Like Water for Chocolate

From January to June

It is unbelievable how women used to be treated before and the importance of random things, such as who was born first, just to take advantage of that. I can’t stand how unfair the mother was with her and I think people used to have a distorted idea of how things should be. Having to take care of her mother until she dies!? A mother is supposed to want the best for her children, to look for them and help them as far as she can, but in this novel, the mother’s role is way too different from what we expect from a mother now.

I hope that Pedro and Tita finish together :)
